HOW LONG WILL THESE ANTI-AGING COSMETIC PROCEDURES LAST?
Non-invasive anti-aging & cosmetic procedures do not require any type of incision, and as a result there is less downtime associated with them.
From 1997 to 2013, non-surgical cosmetic procedures have grown in popularity 520%!
Here is a quick guide to show typical procedures and how long they usually last. Everyone is different, so this is just a guide!
CHEMICAL PEELS
There are so many different types and variables when it comes to chemical peels.
The type of peel, depth of penetration, etc. will all determine how long the results will last, as well as your chemical makeup.
Typically medium and deep level chemical peel results will last a few years as long as proper skincare and sunscreen is used. A more superficial “lunchtime” peel gives temporary results.
BOTOX INJECTIONS
Botox injections are the most popular thing i do out of everything on the list.
This handy little neurotoxin works its magic in the muscle that is moving that is creating the wrinkle. Does that make sense?
When the muscle has been weakened and can no longer wrinkle up when angry, thinking etc the creases will mellow out and in come cases disappear altogether.
Botox injections usually last about 3-6 months, and again depend on the metabolism and body chemistry of each person.

COSMETIC DERMAL FILLERS
There is a huge variable on how long cosmetic filler will last.
The type of filler whether it be hyaluronic acid or calcium based, the chemical makeup of the person receiving it, where it is injected and the injection technique all can have an effect on the longevity of cosmetic fillers.
Typical Hyaluronic based fillers like Perlane, Restylane, Juvederm, Restylane Silk, Belotero and Voluma are around 6-12 months. Some claim a 2 year duration, but the studies conducted were using 5 syringes of filler on the test patients. The average person does not get 2 years out of any filler.
Calcium based fillers such as Radiesse claim 18 months, but a more realistic expectation is probably 10-14 months.
LASER FOR SPIDER AND VARICOSE VEINS
Lasers can certainly help spider veins or varicose veins by sending a strong beam of targeted light that will break up the blood trapped in these vessels.
Spider vein treatments are typically a permanent solution, but that in no way keeps you from making more as you age. In fact if you are prone to them, you can expect more to come. You can ask professionals like this vascular surgeon in Mountain View, CA or services who do Varithena varicose vein treatment to know more about the procedure.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL | REDUCTION
A laser hair removal procedure can permanently reduce unwanted hair on the face or body. It is usually NOT permanent and hair may return even years later, but will likely be a thinner hair than before and slightly patchy. You can consult experts who do laser hair removal in Hyannis, MA or laser hair removal in Naperville, IL for additional guidance.
“Permanent hair reduction” is the term that practitioners ae required to use now, as there is now much thing as “permanent hair removal.”
